KIU Engineering Students Visit Nyamagasani 1 Hydroelectric Power Plant

KIU, Western Campus – KIU Electrical, Telecommunication and Computer Engineering students on recently visited Nyamagasani 1 Hydroelectric power plant in Kasese district on a study tour.

The 60 students had two orientations at the plant, being taken through them by Engineers Rajab Katya and Rogers.

The students were in tow with some of their teachers including Enerst Edozie, the former Head of Department for Electrical Engineering, who organized the visit.

According to Edozie, the trip was of immense value to the students, as it gives them a feel of what actually happens in the Engineering world – outside the classroom.

“The purpose of the visit was to transform some of the theoretical learning into practice. It enabled the students to transform some of the theoretical leaning into practice," he said.
